City of Bones I read when it first came out in 2007, I was a sophomore in a high school where I knew no one and was struggling with depression and borderline personality disorder. I reread this book countless times until City of Ashes came out. I wrote fanfiction about it all of the time. I felt as though the characters in the book were my only friends for a long time. And reading about Jace and Clary’s strength, gave me some of my own. I honestly can say that City of Bones may have saved my life at one point and I can never thank Cassandra Clare enough for that.
